What is Restylane?

Restylane is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler that is most commonly used to combat volume loss in the lips, but can be used to treat any of the following areas:

  • Nasolabial folds (laugh lines)
  • Fine lines around the mouth (marionette lines)
  • Lip border definition (lipstick lines)
  • Thin lips
  • Corners of the mouth
  • Jowl area

Fine Line ReductionThis innovative dermal filler can reduce the lines on your face to bring back a more youthful glow to your appearance and smooth out aging skin.

Restylane uses the same chemical base as the naturally occurring hyaluronic acid in your own body, so it works in congruence with the tissues it is injected into and minimizes the risk of infection or allergic reaction. Hyaluronic acid can also be dissolved with hyaluronidase if the patient wishes to reverse the results. Restylane is a highly regarded injectable treatment and the doctors at Cosmetic Laser Dermatology would love talk to you about how it can improve fine lines and wrinkles in your face today!

Q: When will I see results from Restylane injections?

A: You should notice a difference immediately following Restylane treatment, but because there may be some initial swelling after the injection, expect to experience full results within a few days of treatment, once the swelling subsides.

Q: What if I do not like my Restylane results?

A: Restylane, and all of the other hyaluronic acid fillers, can be dissolved with hyaluronidase to reverse your results if you are unhappy.

Q: What is the difference between Restylane and Radiesse?

A: Restylane is made of hyaluronic acid, while Radiesse is comprised of calcium-based microspheres that stimulate collagen production. Radiesse is more commonly used in large treatment areas like the hands, nose, and chin, whereas Restylane works well for fine lines and wrinkles, and lip enhancement.
